About QEG
Quantum Engineering Group.
Est. 2009.
01 · What we do
We engineer, fabricate, and commission the mechanical systems that keep data centres, hospitals, factories, and power stations running. The work is technical, the standards are high, the handover is final.
02 · The story
How we started
A consulting practice, by an engineer.
QEG was founded in 2009 by Robbert Frielink — a mechanical services engineer with three decades of design, construction, and gas turbine inlet cooling experience across Australia’s most demanding sectors.
The original brief was simple: provide independent consulting advice clients could actually rely on. No competing trades, no hidden margins, just engineering.
Where we are now
Four disciplines, one team.
17 years later, the consulting practice has grown into a four-discipline design and construct firm — covering D&C, pre-fabrication, gas turbine inlet cooling, and consulting, backed by 24/7 critical-plant support.
The thread connecting all of it: the same engineers who specify a system are accountable for delivering and handing it over running.
03 · Milestones
Seventeen years, one trajectory.
04 · How we work
Three things we don’t compromise on.
One accountable team.
The engineers who design the system are the engineers responsible for handing it over. No handoff between consulting and delivery; no finger-pointing on commissioning day.
Buildable from day one.
Every design is reviewed for fabrication and install constraints before it goes to drawing. The site team sees the documentation while there's still time to influence it.
Final means final.
Handover isn't paper-complete — it's load-prove complete. We don't leave until the new plant has run under real conditions and the client has signed off.
