14 Martin Place, Sydney — Cooling Tower Replacement
Replacement of rooftop cooling towers with 2 x BAC PCT0808 (~1,000 kW each) external cooling towers on a new external roof platform

Project story
QEG was engaged by Abacus Property Group to replace the rooftop cooling towers serving the central chilled water plant at 14 Martin Place. The original internal cooling towers on Roof Level R3 were demolished and replaced with two new external BAC cooling towers on a purpose-designed steel platform on the lower roof, alongside the retained tenant cooling tower. QEG delivered the works on a design-and-construct basis including base build coordination with the existing tenant tower (pipework interconnection and manual bypass valves for redundancy), all associated pipework, painting, electrical and controls modifications. Practical Completion was certified on 30 August 2021 with a 12-month defects liability period.
