Dunham-Bush packaged air conditioning unit installed outside the glasshouse on a galvanised steel base, with supply ductwork rising into the structure.

Project story

QEG was engaged by Powerplants Australia, the specialist greenhouse builder, to design and construct the mechanical services for a new research glasshouse at the NSW Department of Primary Industries facility in Tamworth. The scope included two 75 kW Dunham-Bush packaged air conditioning units, gas heaters, supply fans, galvanised ductwork distributing conditioned air along the glasshouse and full integration with the greenhouse functional description and BMS. QEG provided the mechanical drawings, equipment selection, factory commissioning support and on-site commissioning of the PAC units. A subsequent variation added filter pressure differential switches so the BMS could monitor filter cleanliness and automatically alert the service agent.

Equipment installed

  • 2 x 75 kW Dunham-Bush packaged air conditioning units (ACPSG 025)
  • Gas heaters (HH-SS Australian Heater)
  • Supply fans
  • Galvanised supply air ductwork along the glasshouse
  • Filter pressure differential switches (variation, 2023) integrated with BMS
