NXT Bioscience Tumbi Umbi Laboratory Ventilation
Design and installation of a HEPA-filtered supply-air ventilation system for the NXT Bioscience laboratory at Tumbi Umbi — 10 supply fans with HEPA modules, modulating outside-air control to the PAM area, ductwork and balancing

Project story
QEG was engaged by NXT Bioscience (via Lowes TC Pty Ltd) to design and install the laboratory ventilation systems for their new bioscience facility at Tumbi Umbi. The scope covered detailed engineering by professional engineers, design and shop drawings, ten supply-air fans with pre-filters and integrated speed controllers for balancing, Villair RSC supply-air diffuser modules incorporating HEPA filters, and a dedicated system serving the PAM area with a 24V motorised outside-air damper for modulating fresh-air introduction. Works included supply and return air ductwork, power to fan boxes from adjacent isolators via on/off wall controllers, commissioning to verify air volumes and pressure differentials, O&M manual and twelve-month warranty.
Equipment installed
- 10 x supply air fan boxes with pre-filters and integrated speed controllers
- Villair RSC supply air diffuser modules with integral HEPA filters
- Motorised 24V outside-air damper to the PAM area system
- Supply and return air ductwork (Airpak sheetmetal)
- Power wiring to fan boxes from adjacent isolators
