Kellanova Botany Plant — Canteen Kitchen Fan Room Fire Rating Upgrade
Turn-key fire-rating upgrade of the kitchen fan plant room enclosure, plus temporary fire-exit tunnel and plant-room ventilation works

Bringing the Kellanova canteen kitchen fan room into fire-rating compliance — without taking the kitchen offline
Project story
Quantum Engineering Group was engaged by Kellanova (Kellogg Aust. Pty Ltd) at their Botany manufacturing plant to deliver a turn-key fire-rating upgrade of the existing kitchen canteen fan enclosure. QEG removed the existing polyurethane cool-room panel walls and replaced them with a 78 mm fire-rated panel system rated 0/120/120, including double fire-rated stainless-clad access doors, fire dampers in louvre and duct penetrations, and fire-wrapped pipework penetrations. QEG also delivered structural engineering, scaffold access, cranage and trade coordination. Two variations were issued: VQ001 provided a temporary protected exit passage to maintain the canteen's fire egress during works, and VQ002 added a stainless-steel inline axial plant-room exhaust fan (Rotech) with louvre and fire damper to deliver 15 air changes per hour in the upgraded plant room.
